Despite 43 from Elliott Lawley, this saw Elvaston subside to 116-6 but Andrew Johnson (31) managed to guide his side to a fairly respectable total of 169 all out despite a late burst of wickets from Balraj Johal ,who claimed 4 -49.
When they began their reply, Simon Lillie and Naeem Akhtar took an early wicket apiece and Duffield found themselves on 36-2 and then 58-3 as Kashif Hussain took the first of his two wickets on the day.
Chris Sheldon (28) had already been dismissed but Thomas Roe (58) and Peter Jenkins (31) were in the thick of the Duffield fightback with a vital stand of 69 for the fourth wicket.
Lillie gained the wickets of Roe and Williscroft and Duffield were 136-5 but by Alex Jones, was on hand with his unbeaten 24 to see his side home in the final over.
