Duffield CC 1sts began their Derbyshire County Cricket League Division One encounter with a victory at home to Matlock in an A6 derby on Saturday.
Matlock, relegated last season from the top flight, won the toss, bowled first and dismissed Duffield for 157 in the 39th over.
Skipper Paul Bakel led from the front for Duffield, top scoring with 53, before he was ninth man out.
Then it was over to Jono Clare (5-43) and Adam Short (4-41) who combined in fine fashion to help dismiss Matlock for 132.
At one stage, Matlock were 126-4 and seemingly closing in on victory but they collapsed in spectacular fashion, losing their last six wickets for eight runs.
Next for Duffield is a trip on Saturday to take on Sawley & LE Park.
Also in Division One, Stainsby Hall lost by 110 runs to Clifton and Quarndon beat Cutthorpe by eight wickets.
