Ashley Carson provides update on trying to reach financial agreement with previous Chesterfield boss John Sheridan

Sheridan returned as Spireites manager in January 2019 and saved the club from relegation last season but was sacked on January 2 this year after a 3-0 defeat to Solihull Moors left Town five points from safety in the National League.
After the loss to Solihull Sheridan said he would not walk away from the job but he was sacked less than 24 hours later.

Hide AdHis assistants Glynn Snodin and Mark Crossley were also sacked.
Sheridan was reportedly one of the highest paid managers in the National League and League Two.
Providing an update on the situation, Chesterfield FC company secretary, Ashley Carson, said: “For clarification, the termination of John Sheridan’s contract will be absorbed into the monthly running costs of the club going forward until paid up. To date we have still not reached an amicable settlement.”
