Belper ladies were beaten 3-1 by St Georges despite a dominant display.
They started the game early with some confident passing football between Leah Parkin, Jemma Wheatley and Alex Holland and had some early shots from distance from Helen Tunicliffe and Wheatley.
Runs down both wings by Katie Harper and Franchesca Ashley kept St Georges pinned in their own half.
Completely against the run of play a punted ball from St Georges with a hint of offside allowed three St Georges attackers to run past the defensive line and give goalkeeper Emma Varnham no chance.
The second half saw St Georges come out with some attacking football, but the defence of Emma Newton, Sarah Jackson Olivia Pell and Helen Colwill held firm. And Belper levelled when Helen Tunicliffe slotted home after good link-up play with Jemma Wheatley, Alex Holland and Franchesca Ashley.
The game began to fall into Belper’s favour with substitutions bringing Beth Parker, Kelly Turner and Sue Thornhill into the game.
Belper controlled the game in midfield with some lovely passing football peppering the St Georges goal with shots.
But St Geroge went back in front from a corner, before wrapping the game up with a third.
