Britannia make it four wins from four in Chesterfield Sunday League

It is four wins from four in HKL ONE for Britannia after they won 5-1 at Hasland Working Mens Club.

Nico Degirolamo scoring twice as the defending champions top the table three points ahead of second placed Do Lea.

Gareth Davies, Jason Foster and Ryan Ordidge were also on target for Britannia in the win.

Second placed Doe Lea had a fight on their hands before just edging out a resolute Cutthorpe CC by the odd goal in five to maintain their excellent start to the season.

Declan Brewin and Jordan Thompson scored for Cutthorpe, Tom McTighe, Joe Newton and Luke White for the winners. Renishaw Miners Welfare went big hitting six against New Whitt Social who scored twice themselves.

Danny Talbot scored two of the Renishaw goals, Joel Hodgekiss, Karl Knowles and Adam Sydall also scoring.

Two Adam Puttock goals set Newton George and Dragon on the road to victory over opponents Clowne Wanderers as Dean Bradley and Karl Knowles added goals to complete a 4-2 win.

In HKL TWO leaders Crown Killamarsh were beaten for the first time, 2-1 by Rangers who go second on the strength of the win.

Elsewhere Aaron Sennett-Neilson bagged a hat trick as Clowne Wanderers Reserves romped to a 7-1 success over Brampton Moor Rovers, Liam Pritchard, Max Dungworth, Sam Lomas and Pete Roberts joining him on the score sheet.

Bolsover Town were also in top scoring form as Aiden McTighe’s two goals led them to a 6-0 win over Brampton Victoria, Liam Richardson, Tim Garfoot, Joe Wheaton and Joel Searson also scoring. Victory also for Glapwell as the Gladiators beat Midland 4-2.

Hollingwood Athletic surged to the top of HKL THREE after their 9-2 rout of FH Hurricanes. Goals flew in at regular intervals with Logan Mantle proving to be a real thorn in the side of the Hurricanes hitting four goals in the win, Crookes twice, White, Bostock and Fox also on target.

The other three games in THREE were all much more closely fought affairs, two being won by the odd goal in five the other drawn. Bridge just squeezed past Spotted Frog, Harry and Joe Oakley along with Richard Pearson scoring the winning goals.

Grassmoor Sports beat Green Utd by the same margin whilst Britannia Tupton drew 2-2 with Newbold Football Training for whom Liam Hendley and Dan Keenan scored.

In HKL FOUR Renishaw Rangers were beaten for the first time in a close encounter with Mutton who won the game 3-2, Liam Waller, Dan Harper and Sam Allcock hit the winning goals, Max Glaves and Connor Round replying for Rangers.

Dronfield Town’s win over Butchers Arms was much more clear cut as Kane Snell scored four times, Liam Carrington and Josh Devereux once in a 6-1 victory. Arkwright Town were also winners, beating Dronfield Wanderers 4-2.

HKL FIVE is currently topped by Espial who won their third game on the bounce on Sunday, a 3-1 success at the expense of Spartans. Espial’s winning goals were scored by Sam Allen twice and Joe Whittaker.

Gate Inn’s Tom Torrington and Rhys Wallhead hit trebles in an impressive 7-1 win over Hasland Community who three games in remain pointless. Logan Mantle rounded off the scoring for Gate.

A goal apiece from Josh Bennett and Ryan Malkin earned Newbold Football Training a 2-1 victory over Tiki whilst at North Wingfield Working Men’s Club the hosts and visitors Carr Vale Utd Bolsover shared six goals and the points.

On target for a Wingfield were Shane Dickinson, Nyle Curley and Ryan Higgins with John Smith scoring twice for Vale, Josh Pashley once.

Into HKL SIX and Contact Club beat Castle 3-1 to go level on points with leaders Apollo who didn’t play, both sides now having won their opening three games.

Contact’s scorers were Paul Carr, Declan Healy and Brad Leather. Creswell had a comfortable 4-0 win over Spartans Reserves whilst Grassmoor Sports Reserves won narrowly 3-2 at Palterton Sporting Club.
