Champions Crib Bar begin league campaign in emphatic fashion

CHAMPIONS CRIB BAR kicked off their season’s campaign in the same form as they had signed off the previous one and scored an emphatic 6-1 away win at the home of newly-promoted NORMANTON UNITED.

Liam Brown was the architect as he helped himself to four of his side’s goals.

SHIRLAND MW got off the mark as they brushed aside RAINBOW INTERNATIONAL 3-1, with Matt Whittaker scoring twice and Karl Rice adding the other.

A tight affair saw CODNOR MINERS ARMS and MARLPOOL WHITE LION share the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

John Griffiths was on the mark for the home team whilst Matthew Hunt responded for the visitors.

Andrij Kupranec and substitute Tom Joyce each scored twice, with Matt Roberts adding another for DERBY ATHLETIC who beat CORONATION CLUB 5-0.

In Division Two Jay Cooper scored four and Jamie Briggs another as RAILWAY (Alfreton) delivered a knock-out blow to AMBER ATHLETIC. Matt Wilders got a couple and Adam Thomas the other for the previously impressive visitors, who went down 5-3.

Adam Bond scored twice for RIPLEY WHITE LION who were denied by a hotly disputed last minute penalty that tied up their game with THE WHEEL at 2-2.

Stephen Adams earned an early penalty for HOLMEWOOD FC at RAILWAY TAVERN, although his exuberant dive after being tripped was a touch dramatic; then knocking in the kick himself to give his side the lead.

The same player then threaded through a sumptuous pass for Craig Young to restore the advantage after the home team had evened things up.

The goal of the game belonged to Tavern defender Jake Mee, however, who converted from fully 35 yards out to level things up for a second time before Adams again with a header from a corner kick and the lively Justin Deakin scored to secure a 4-2 win for the visitors.

HILCOTE MW have done it at long last; their 2-1 win over GALLOWS INN is their first since joining the League and secures them a position in the dizzy heights of mid-table Division 3 respectability .

After GLADIATORS FC had taken an early lead at SEVEN STARS, it was the home team that asserted and went on to secure the points on the back of a 5-1 win.

The highlight was a hat-trick from Ibrahim Ashonsh and a 25 yarder scored by Liam Dolan.

The previously unbeaten BOUNDARY ATHLETIC came a 5-0 cropper at home to BULLS HEAD for whom Jay Gooch, Ross Housechild (2), Lewis Shaw and Nick Wilson weighed in with the goals.

ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE were beaten 2-4 at home by HEANOR STAFF. Mat
