TWO local businesses have again added their financial support to Holbrook Sports Football Club with their sponsorship of the first team kit for the 2011/2012 season.
The Tavern, from Derby Road, Belper, are now in their third year of kit sponsorship and JJN Builders of Belper are in their second year which will see the local building firm appear on the back of the club’s shirts.
Club spokesman Glyn Dawson said: “It is fantastic the financial support these local businesses give the club.
“Football is a sport that communities can really rally around and that’s the sort of atmosphere we want to create at the O-kra ground.
“We would hope that this sponsorship will act as a catalyst for other local firms and townspeople to come forward and support the club in a similar way.”
The Brookies have had mixed fortunes in the last week.
Last Saturday, Holbrook went down to a 1-0 East Midlands Counties League defeat at Borrowash Victoria.
In front of 154, the only goal of the game came from former Sports player Marc Finlay on 37 minutes.
Last Wednesday, the Brookies edged through to the second round of the League Cup with a 3-2 home win over Thurnby Nirvana.
The scorers for Holbrook were Paul Campbell, Emeka Ejiofor and Danwell Francis.
This Saturday Holbrook are back in action when they host bottom-of-the-table side Radcliffe Olympic at Shaw Lane. Kick-off is 3pm.
