Ripley Town kept up their recent good form when they scored their biggest win of the season on Saturday.
They beat local rivals Bargate Rovers 5-1 in the Midlands Regional Alliance Division One.
Town got off to a great start, scoring in the third minute as Tim Stone and Sam Chambers combined for Chambers to score from close range.
Then it was the turn of Stones to get his name on the scoresheet, to make it 2-0 and then Nathan Gration scored with a direct free kick as Ripley piled on the pressure.
A Matt Crews header then made it four before the break.
Ripley never hit the same heights in the second half and a spirited Bargate pulled a goal back, but Nathan Gration had the final word as he cut in from the left to fire home number five for Town to complete a very satisfactory day for Ripley.
This Saturday, Ripley host Punjab at Nottingham Road in the Junior Cup with the game having an early 1.15pm kick off.
