A JAMIE Morgan first half hat-trick gave SHIRLAND MW in the platform for a 5-1 first division win over CODNOR MINERS ARMS.
His first came after a speculative drive beat goalkeeper Kev France at his near post, but the second and third oozed class.
Receiving the ball with his back to goal he juggled, swivelled and volleyed home with his left foot then adding another with an exquisite lob.
He added a fourth after the resumption with an equally sublime chip from the acutest of angles before Mark Slinn latched on to a through ball to hammer home a fifth.
Stephen Guilor got the Codnor consolation..
Morgan was outdone scoring-wise by Richard Groves who registered a double hat-trick for a MARLPOOL WHITE LION side that triumphed 8-0 against AFC SOUTH NORMANTON; Jimmy Holmes getting the other two.
CRIB also found their scoring boots after spurning a number of first half chances against visitors CORONATION CLUB. Adam Nicholls put the home team in front, then adding a second before Steve Allsop reduced the deficit.
Liam Brown poked home the ball after good work from Matt Phillips, the latter then getting on the score sheet to extend Crib’s lead. Substitute Craig Cheetham chipped in for another before Lee Owen completed the scoring to complete his side’s 6-1 victory margin.
Nigel Haslam had shot RAINBOW INTERNATIONAL into a two-goal lead over visitors DERBY ATHLETIC, who came back strongly to lead 3-2 going into the last minute of the game. However, Kieran Edwards marked his debut by snatching a last ditch equaliser to ensure a share of the spoils for the home side.
The top two sides in Division Two came face to face in a well contested and close encounter, with visitors HOLMEWOOD UNITED finally edging out table topping NORMANTON UNITED 4-3. Cameron Shaw, Rich Miller and James Pearce were the scorers for the home team, but goals from Ashley Morton (2), Craig Young and Keeton Holland opened up the title race.
AMBER ATHLETIC are on the shirt tails of the leaders and kept up their challenge by beating RIPLEY WHITE LION 2-0. Kye Rogers got the first, and the second was courtesy of a Jamie Woodward own goal.
Daniel Poyser was on the mark for TIBSHELF WHITE HART but his side remain pointless after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of RAILWAY (Alfreton).
Matt Byard rattled in four as his HAYLOFT side despatched RAILWAY TAVERN 5-1; Luke Morley getting the other, whilst RIDDINGS ROVERS returned to winning ways in beating THE WHEEL 4-2.
Division Three leaders BOUNDARY ATHLETIC came a cropper at OUT OF TOWN who strolled to a 9-0 win. Dan Cummings (4), Michael Hollis (2), Russ Spencer (2) and Josh Gratton getting the goals.
ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE also found themselves on the back of a beating; GALLOWS INN thumping them 8-1 with goals from Haydn Thompson, Lewis Hillier (2), Lee Hillier (2) and Lewis Boulton (2). Gareth Bradley got a consolation for the home team.
GLADIATORS FC conceded the same number and are finding the going tough in their first season in the League. They had no answer to the pace of the SEVEN STARS front runners who ran riot in an 8-0 romp.
Sam Smith gave HEANOR STAFF the lead with a cross-cum-shot against HILCOTE MW; also scoring with a close range header. However, the visitors never say die approach reaped its reward with a last minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
A Jack Bonser brace was the difference between the teams, as MARLPOOL UNITED defeated BULLS HEAD 2-0.
