Holbrook Sports responded well to their Bank Holiday defeats by scoring three times against a spirited and well-organised Radcliffe Olympic.
Chris King opened the scoring with 14 minutes gone from 20 yards, and a brace from Paul Fisher in the 60th and 80th minutes completed a resounding victory.
Holbrook’s defence was superbly marshalled by captain Kane Jellyman and the result never looked in doubt after the opening goal.
The fixtures are coming thick and fast after the enforced break due to the weather and this was Holbrook’s fourth game in eight days, so it was credit to the depth of the squad and the players’ physical condition in ensuring a second consecutive win in three days after defeating Swanwick Pentrich Road on Thursday night in the Belper Nursing Cup.
Manager Paul Romney said: “We have had to work really hard over the last week and although the results didn’t go our way last bank holiday weekend, I thought we deserved more from those games, so to record two wins in three days is down to the commitment of the players.
“They must take all the credit for their valiant efforts.
“We would like to finish the season well, and the players are giving maximum effort to ensure we do.”
