Ambergate FC have confirmed that first team manager David Kinder has left his position in order to take the manager’s role at Belper United Reserves.
David joined the club in July 2012 after Matt Magill asked him to assist him with first team duties.
The season saw the club promoted from the Midlands Regional Alliance Division Two, as well as reaching three cup quarter finals and the semi-final of the Belper Nursing Cup, following victories against Belper Town and Holbrook St Michaels. The club also boasted the best defence in the league during that season.
In the summer of 2013, David was one of the members of the club who put a plan together to form a reserve side and make the club stronger as a whole, which has been seen this season, especially financially.
Chairman Jeff Baldwin said: “The committee cannot thank David enough for everything he has done since he joined. The club has only grown stronger, which can be seen both on and off the pitch and it would not be in the position it is today without him. We were hoping to persuade David to stay but the jump up in levels was too much to turn down, but he will always be welcome back”.
The club would like to thank David for his commitment over the years and wish him well at Belper United.
United’s first team manager Paul Postlethwaite added: “We are very pleased to have Dave on board. He is very well known in local football and has been successful in his short time in management. Having taken the Reserves to the League and Cup Double last season, Darren Mayes and Mark Bailey have stepped down to concentrate on other positions. Darren will be commercial director and Mark will be more involved with the first team on matchdays.”
as well as coaching.”
