Holbrook Sports manager Paul Romney has now finalised his backroom team for the season 2012/13.

ughn Hallsworth has been made Assistant Player/Manager. Vaughn has over first team games and scored over 200 1st team games in a Holbrook Sports career that has already lasted 16 years to date. Vaughn has a vast knowledge of the players and local scene. Vaughn was integral in the last two FA VAse campaigns where we got to the last 16 and last 32 in the last two seasons.

Paul Lemon has been made Head Coach. Paul has played in over 100 games for Sunderland and 85 for Chesterfield in his professional career and is currently completing his coaching qualifications. He made his debut in a 1-0 victory at Roker Park against Tottenham Hotspur and scored his first professional goal against Derby County at the Baseball Ground back in 1984.

Phill Alcock continues as 1st Team Goalkeeper Coach. Phill has been at the club for 4 seasons originally starting in reserves team management with Paul Romney. 2 seasons ago Phill was promoted to 1st Team Goalkeeper Coach. Holbrook Sports have the reputation of having the best keepers in the league, with Daymo Clark going on to play much higher and now Simon Lillie doing the same, and it something that we intend to continue.

John Shepherd has been promoted to Reserve Team Manager. John joined the club at the start of the year from South Normanton and quickly became an important part of the management team. Has brought in some excellent young players to the club and has numerous contacts in the local football scene.

Paul Romneys explained: “Vaughn Hallsworth and paul Lemon are two guys that we have been chasing since my appointment two weeks ago. Vaughn has the respect of everyone in this club and is a great addition to the management staff. Vaughn’s excitement and enthusiasm is infectious and his commitment to the club has been unquestionable. Hopefully he will also still have a big impact as a player and chip in with his 10 goals again.

“We knew we also needed a Head Coach and when Paul Lemon came available, we had to get him on board. Paul’s Professionalism and experience will be invaluable to the management and players alike and is looking forward to getting on the training ground with the players. His experiences of a being a professional footballer being coached by some of the best coaches in the country can only benefit the club.

“Add these two to the team with Phill, John and Myself and we have a real chance of moving this club forward. The youth policy is also taking shape with an u19 team (playing in the floodlit league), two u18 sides and an u16 added this is an exciting time for the club.

“We have now had alot of the players we have actively been chasing promising to come pre-season and we can only feel that we are moving forward as a club.”

Pre-season starts on June 20, and will then run every saturday, Tuesday and Thursday to the start of the season.
