One of the reasons Belper United are in such hot form at the start of the new 2015/16 season could be the lucrative sponsorship deal they have landed.
For they are being backed by heating manufacturer, Vaillant, which is based on Nottingham Road in the town.
Vaillant has extended its sponsorship of the team and their familiar green and black kit for the third year running, and hopes their support will help them to glory in the South Division of the Central Midlands League.
It’s a case of so far, so good because Belper are unbeaten in their opening six matches of the campaign, having won four and drawn two, and they sit as high as third in the table, only two points behind the leaders.
In their latest league match last Saturday, Belper won 3-0 away to Keyworth United, having thrashed Welbeck Welfare 7-1 in the league cup last midweek.
Club secretary Colin Davies said: “We are delighted to announce Vaillant as the sponsors of our club and new kit. We have a very talented and successful team here at Belper United and the new kits will certainly help our players look the part as they tackle the competition.”
Vaillant offers eco-friendly, energy-saving heating and hot water systems that make increasing use of renewable energies. The firm’s technologies director, Steve Keeton, said: “We are not only proud of our place within the local community but also a seasoned supporter of local sport, which is why we are thrilled to continue our backing of Belper United. Many of our staff at the Belper plant are big fans of the team, so we wish them luck for the rest of the season.”
