United in third place after a 4-0 win over Calverton MW

Belper United bounced back well on Saturday from a couple of recent defeats in the Central Midlands League Black Dragon Badges South Division.

They beat bottom of the table Calverton Miners Welfare 4-0.

Luke Crosby’s two goals, with one each for Sam Vickers and Jamie Wilde, saw them consolidate third place in the division.

This Saturday, United are away at Bulwell FC with the match kicking off at 3pm.

Meanwhile, in the Reserves Premier Division, Belper United Reserves beat Blidworth Welfare 3-0 thanks to strikes by Mark Walker, Dan Griffin and Jamie Sparkes. They are also currently third in their division.

n In the Midlands Regional Alliance, Shardlow St James were emphatic 9-0 victors over Bargate Rovers in Division One.

Liam McCormack (four), James Oldham (two), Paul Ireson (two) and Ryan Martin were on target for the hosts, who move into second after high-flying Rowsley ’86 Reserves and Pastures cancelled each other out in a goalless stalemate.

Goals from Joe Dale, Jacob Stone, and James Wellings saw Little Eaton Reserves pick up their first league win of the campaign in Division Two with a 3-0 victory at Bargate Rovers Reserves.
