Midfielder Ian Ross believs Belper Town were robbed after conceding a late penalty which condemned them to defeat.
Belper were level with Stamford until they conceded an 88th minute penalty, allowing Ryan Robbins to seal a 3-2.
But Ross felt the referee had go it wrong and that Belper, who are now without a win in 11 matches, had deserved something from the game.
Said Ross: “I did not think it was a penalty. I thought we competed well and deserved something from the match.”
But he believes there is hope for the future after a number of new signings had impressive debuts.
