Frustrated Belper Town boss Jon Froggatt has again called on his struggling side to sort their defensive crisis out.
Goals from player manager Jon Froggatt and Ian Ross saw the Nailers continue their goal scoring run.
But individual mistakes and wonder goals caused them to concede four more goals as they were beaten 4-2 by Ramsbottom.
It means Belper, who are rock-bottom of the Evo-Stik Premier, have now conceded 35 goals in 14 matches.
Froggatt, who took his tally to eight goals for the season, said: ”The result is a massive shame. We had a big opportunity when we got our second goal and they went down to ten men to at least get something from the game, and I expected us to.
“We started off well in the game and showed good quality to come back twice, but the second half was poor.
“We had a lot of possession but didn’t create a lot, and conceding sloppy goals has let us down again.”
“The third goal we conceded was highly frustrating, we simply can’t keep allowing goals like this to ruin our chances.
“Once again, we have scored twice and come away with nothing, as last week we scored three and got nothing from the game, it’s obvious where our problems are.”
The Nailers have failed to keep a clean sheet since the five-nil win over Witton Albion, and Froggatt is hoping to rectify that, by bringing fresh faces in to the team.
“So far me and Mark have only signed one player in Glyn Cotton, and we’re certainly looking to sign more players in the coming weeks,” he said.
“It’s clear we need defenders, and that is no disrespect to the defenders we currently have in the side, but it’s the type of defenders we don’t have that’ll help make the difference for us.
“I can assure you that we are not far away, and I genuinely believe we have enough about us to start getting these wins under our belts. Confidence is a huge factor in football, and one win might be enough to then take us on a run due to that little more belief.”
The Nailers host their next game on Tuesday evening against Barwell, 7:45pm kick off.
