What John Pemberton said about possibility of signing more new players

The Spireites caretaker manager has so far brought in striker Nathan Tyson, defender Jordan Cropper and goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons on loan deals until the end of the season.

Pemberton praised Chesterfield owner Dave Allen and company secretary Ashley Carson for their support in helping him make those signings.

"I have to say the owner has been unbelievably supportive,” he said.

“Anything that he can help with he has to be fair to him.

"He wants to get this right.

"He does not want the club in this position.

"Last time I was here he was great and since coming through the door they (Allen and Carson) have been only too happy to help us.

"They have been big in getting Ross (Fitzsimons) and Nathan (Tyson) over the line so their support has been good."

Pemberton, who has won his first two games in charge, is wary of having a big squad but did not rule out any further additions.

"I am not desperate for players,” he said.

"I can't have a too big of a squad because that is not pro-active and it becomes difficult to manage.

"I am sure we can have a conversation if the right player was to come along.”

Meanwhile, Chesterfield’s match against Notts County on February 1 will now be televised on BT Sport and kick-off at 5.20pm.
