Massive tag rugby festival

BELPER Rugby Club are hosting a massive schools tag rugby competition next Monday.

The event, for school years five and six, will run from 4pm to 6pm at Strutts and has been organised by the RFU and the club’s tremendous youth volunteers who have gained sponsorship towards it.

There will be well over 100 children representing 15 teams from 14 schools who are taking part. Each school must field a minimum of two boys and two girls in each game. The winners will progress to the county finals on May 20.

Certificates and medals will be provided for all players from the School Sports Partnership.

Schools attending are Curzon, Crich Carr, Horsley, Herbert Strutt, Richardson, Long Row, Coppice, Mundy Junior, Duffield Meadows, Pottery, Crich Junior, Howitt, Morley and two from St Johns in Belper.
