Another victory for Belper RUFC 1sts

Belper RUFC 1sts made it back-to-back victories in the Midlands Four East (North) when they got the better of hosts Keyworth by the comfortable margin of 31-3.

A slow opening from travelling Belper saw a frustratingly even game for the first half, and despite the visitors being two tries up at half time (including a contender for try of the season from captain Simon Carter, charging through four men from distance), it did not feel like a dominant display from the favourites.

There were stern words all round at half-time and these seemed to change the course of the game, as Belper started to click and open up Keyworth. The home side’s valiant first half defence began to crumble, and allowed a further three tries from Belper for the visitors to secure a 31-3 bonus point win.
