The cyclo-cross purists were delighted again on Saturday with all the mud and rain for Round ten of the SRAM Notts and Derby League race, at Sinfin Park in Derby, with Belper Bicycle Club members in attendance.

Many said these were ‘proper’ cyclo-cross conditions.

In the Seniors’ event, Andrew Naylor (Fossa) took the win from Gareth Whittall (Clay Cross RT), with Lee Shunburne (Fossa) finishing in third. In this event, with 141 riders, Belper man Jonathan Marshall (Zepnat) finished a good 17th place, ahead of the other Belper riders David Huselbee, Steve Boon, Craig Ingram and Jane Warbrick.

In the Youth race Arthur Green (Hope Factory Racing) took the victory with Taylor Marshall and Alice Warbrick also putting in good efforts for Belper BC.

The under 12s saw Nottingham Clarion’s Poppy Wildman take the win out of the 51 riders on the day, with Belper’s Christian Boon coming a good 14th place, Eddy Warbrick 17th,

Jack Husselbee 19th and Liam Northridge finishing in 38th spot.

There were no Belper BC riders in the Under 9s race this week.

Next up is Sherwood Pines for Round 11 on December 15, a race that promises fast down hill sections through trees and also single track sections with riders battling it out for position.
