Belper Hockey Club are still searching for their first win of the season after they were beaten 3-2 by Deeside Ramblers.
Belper went 3-2 behind following a second-half penalty corner and failed to level following some poor decision making.
Just five minutes into the game, forward Ben Walton put the away side 1-0 up with a tidy finish in a congested D.
Deeside hit back almost immediately on nine minutes to level the score at 1-1 with a well taken field goal.
Belper heads did not drop though, and the away side continued to press - playing some attractive hockey, which resulted in Luke Davies converting with aplomb when he slotted home from close range with powerful, high flick.
Unfortunately the goal-pattern followed that of the opening 10 minutes, and Deeside hit back just a minute later when they were awarded a penalty stroke after a poorly timed challenge from a Belper defender.
On 48 minutes Deeside were awarded a penalty corner, which they converted to take the score to 3-2.
With time on the clock, Belper knew the game wasn’t over but poor passing and decision making let them down, and they failed to create any chances.
