The last week of the season at Carsington Fishery hosted some cold but pleasant days out on the water. An interesting number of browns were caught, estimating sizes of over 3lbs.

The rod average for the final week was 3.84 with 73 fish caught by 19 anglers.

The heaviest rainbow this week was 3lbs 8oz caught by John Matthews on a pink blob near No. 7 buoy. The fishery will reopen on March 15.

Bookings are currently being taken for next season. There are a number of completion and group bookings in the diary.

After the success of two open competitions, Carsington Fishery will be holding its 2014 Spring Open Competition on Saturday, April 12.

Please contact the venue if you would like to take part.

It will be run as a known pairs competition and will cost £60 per boat including two six-fish tickets.
