Determined Belper Strutt Club came from behind to surge three points clear at the top of the Darley Dale and District Snooker League.
Despite a convincing victory in the opening frame for Mark Newby, Strutt found themselves 2-1 down at home to Edgefold Club Matlock No.2. Rob Dicken maintained his five-match unbeaten run with a black-ball verdict over Paul Jarrett to equalise, and then Josh Lee put the visitors in front.
However, home captain Steve Bullock was in defiant mood as he beat Tom Chambers to level before Jarrett and Newby took the deciding doubles with aplomb.
Matlock Club gained their fourth 3-2 win in seven games, this time against Matlock Golf Club with player of the week Mick Mackfall and Paul Bryan playing starring roles. And there were fine wins for both Bolehill teams, with No.1 beating Alfreton Palmer Morewood 4-1 and No.2 edging out Edgefold No.1 3-2.
