Children from Belper Marlin Swimming Club carried out distance swims at the weekend, as the club continues its busy, and medal-packed first quarter of 2013.
And, as can be seen from their ages below, some of those taking part were not very old at all.
They were given just one hour to complete the challenge and gain certificates for multiple kilometre swims.
Parents were on hand to support their talented offspring and helping count lengths.
Words of encouragement could be heard at the poolside as length after length were clocked up.
And it was evident from their comments that the parents were glad not to be the ones doing the distances in the pool!
All the children have been named below as the club was very proud of every one of them.
The swimmers achieving over 1km: were Remy MacLachlan (seven years old) 32 lengths, Philip Lamb ( six) 64, Mia Lindsey ( seven) 64, Jolie Baker ( eight) 66.
Those managing 2km were: Evie McLaughin ( seven years old) 80, Robert Mosley (ten) 80, Annabel Brown (seven) 80, Luke Wellman (ten) 80, Peter Lamb ( nine) 80, William Booth (nine) 84, Joel McGraw (nine ) 86, Alice Henshaw (eight) 87 , Ella Meakin (nine) 88, Sarah Alagam (ten ) 88, Chris Wellman (13) 91, Jessica Allinson ( 11) 94, Jamie Cameron (eight) 96, Eleanor Mosely (eight) 96, Dean Smith (nine ) 96, Daisy Gardiner (ten) 96, Elizabeth Terry (ten) tba, Jack Dann (ten ) tba.
Finally. those swimming an amazing 3km in an hour were Tiffany Averis (ten)120 and also Cameron Haynes ( 11) 128.
A club spokesman added: “It was a brilliant effort and you all deserve the certificates and the praise for your efforts.”
