Rod average is on the up again

It’s been a much better week for fishing at Carsington Fishery with the rod average increasing to 3.15.

Fish are still being caught in deeper water and most of them have been over 2lbs in weight. A total of 148 fish have been caught by 47 anglers.

There have been many more browns caught this week, the heaviest being 3lbs, caught by R Harrison on a dog nobbler.

The most successful areas have been in the deeper sections of Stitch Plantation, Fishtail Creek, Millfields, North End and drifting from the east side towards the middle of the reservoir around buoys 4-6.

A Fishing For Heroes Competition, is to take place on Saturday, October 12, at Carsington Water. This is a National Still Water Regional Heat.
