Rod average is on the up at Carsington

An excellent week of fishing at Carsington Fishery saw the rod average shoot up to 11.18.

There were 939 fish caught by 84 anglers.

The heaviest rainbow this week was 4lbs 13oz caught on a black buzzer near Sitch plantation by Mr Margett.

The heaviest brown this week was 3lbs caught by Mr Crompton. There was also a blue trout caught by Mr Sprung.

The most successful areas have been at Fish Tail Creek, Upperfield farm bay, Sitch Plantation, Watersports & Sailing club island.

The most successful patterns were black buzzers, daiwl bach, gold head montanna and damsels.

Most fish have been caught on floating and intermediate lines. Many fish have been caught close to the margins on the east side and near Osprey towers.

Don’t forget to book your boat in advance to avoid disappointment. Boats can leave the jetty from 8.30am. All boats are back to the jetty by 7.30pm. Please allow a few minutes to return from your fishing spot. Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment. Discounts are available for bookings of five or more boats.
