Schools prepare for rugby festival

This year’s Tag Festival for local primary schools takes place at the grounds of Belper RUFC on Tuesday, March 26, between 4pm-6pm.

Pupils from 18 local schools have signed up to take part this year in the tournament, which has proven to be very hotly contested previously.

The event is organised jointly between Belper RUFC and Amber Valley School Sports Partnership and is run on the day by volunteers from the club’s youth teams.

“This has always been a really enjoyable event at the club, and it is always great to see so many youngsters down at the club, some having their first experience of rugby” said Martin Holmes, director of Minis and Juniors Rugby.

“We are looking forward to welcoming young players, teachers and parents to Belper RUFC.”
