Thanks all round at the end of a great swimming season

Belper Marlin Swimming Club rounded of their season with swimmers taking part in their last meets at the Chesterfield Open and the Four Towns Gala.

As the season ended Marlin chairman Kevin Hallsworth extended thanks to the committee for their support throughout the last year and to head coach Mike Brett for his dedication and positive approach to club’s development programme.

Mike Brett said: “The dedication of the helpers, parents and the coaches this year in galas and at training sessions has been amazing and everyone has helped take the club to a new level .”

The club always needs volunteers and are requesting that all swimmers’ parents attend the AGM in early October to show support to the club and it’s swimmers.

Marlin will be back competing when the season resumes but until then they have their Boot Camp 2 in early September with a special visit from a local Olympian.

Being held at Alfreton Leisure Centre, the one-day event will test strength and endurance through land training and a tough pool session .
