Belper badminton ace Janet Fletcher was up in Lancashire at the weekend, competing in her final badminton tourmanent of the 2013-2014 season.
At The National Railsport Games, she was in open age groups action and came away with a brace of medals for her efforts.
She won gold in the mixed doubles - with Duncan Fraser - and also came runner-up in the ladies singles category.
This comes hot on the heels of Janet being selected to play in the Great Britain Railsport team, in the European Championships held in Spa, Belgium last month. The Great Britain team took the silver medal, but despite playing in open age group badminton, Janet, 63, won five of her six matches during the weekend - all three singles and only losing a close mixed doubles 19-21, 19-21 to the gold medal winning team from Germany.
These two latest medals continue a fine run of form in recent years for Janet.
Last season, after nearly 20 years of trying, she won her first Badminton England national title, the Over 60s Ladies Singles Champion in December 2012 at Guildford.
And in Sofia, Bulgarian, together with badminton partner Bob Bell (Cornwall), she became European Badminton - Over 60s Mixed Doubles Champions, despite being unseeded.
