ANDY Wragg will be bidding for a world title when Alfreton Leisure Centre hosts an evening of Kickboxing action on Saturday.

Staged by the Ripley Wragsters Academy, Andy – known as ‘The Hammer’ – will be battling to lift the WUMA Pro world super middleweight belt at the second time of asking.

A year ago he lost out to Mark ‘Iceman’ Smith and Wragg, 41, is determined to capture the crown this time around in a rematch over 12 scheduled rounds of two minutes each.

In May 2010 in Evesham, Andy was halted by a low blow having stepped in to take the fight with just a week’s notice.

Wragg, has won Midlands and British titles and is now aiming to add a world title to his fighting CV.

On the undercard is a ten-round European title fight with Swanwick battler Christian Harrison challenging Cheltenham’s Dan Rogers for the English Amateur title.

It is anticipated that there will be up to an additional 14 fights on the supporting bill.

The doors open at 5pm and the show starts at 6pm.

Ticket prices are £25 adults and £15 for U14s.

Tickets are available from Ripley School of Boxing, Park Road, Ripley, or by calling 07811 451617.
