Vibrant Canadian trio Ritchie-Parrish-Ritchie (RPR) are playing live at the Nailers Football Club Concert Room in Belper this week.
RPR initially rocked the folk and roots music scene as the rhythm section of Tanglefoot, a hard-working band with a massive presence and a fanatically loyal following throughout Canada, the USA and Britain.
Now Rob Ritchie, Al Parrish and Steve Ritchie, along with percussionist, singer and songwriter Beaker Granger, have re-connected as RPR.
The new configuration affords the four exciting performers the opportunity to stretch their wings, indulging in musical whims and creating a memorable experience of arresting music, stories, laughter and reminiscence.
It is light and shade, irreverent and poignant, gentle as a whisper and yet rampantly energetic.
Whether it’s an original country song of Al’s, Steve’s recollection of a Robert Plant version of an old Dylan tune, or Rob’s incisive musical humour, their trademark harmony, the chemistry, and the impact are all there.
The gig is on Friday, May 20 and tickets are £14 on 01773 853428.
