Louis Pearl, the world’s leading bubbleologist has been delighting audiences for more than 30 years with his displays of science.
The enterprising entertainer has crafted 21 contraptions to help him in his bubble-making and toured all over the world.
Ahead of his visit to Buxton Opera House on Sunday, November 1, Louis explained why bubbles are so popular with young and old. “Bubbles pull everyone into the moment. It is very hard to see bubbles in front of you and think about something else.
“Children love bubbles because they are magical and because they get to destroy them afterwards.
“I’ve put a lot of strange people in bubbles. Once I was performing at a wedding and was assigned to put the bride and groom into a large rainbow. The groom was so drunk… It was impossible but hilarious.”
Louis has even showcased his science to the stars. “I did a private show for the late Robin Williams and his kids about 20 years ago. Robin shook my hand afterwards and I was aware that he was the only person there who understood that high feeling you get after a good stage show. That was a special moment.”
The Amazing Bubble Man will be in action at Buxton Opera House at 2pm on Sunday. Tickets £14 and £12 (child).
