RISLEY’S Treetops Hospice is opening its grounds to the public for its annual bank holiday car boot sale on Monday, 30 May.
In previous years, the May car boot sale has raised around £5,000 for the charity through the entry fee.
This money goes towards providing hospice care for adults and their families. Treetops Hospice has a Day Care Unit in Risley as well as a team of nurses who work across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire caring for people in their own home. Treetops also offer a bereavement support service.
Community fundraiser Marilyn Smith said: “The car boot sale is a great fundraiser for the hospice and we are so lucky to have amazing grounds in Risley which make this event possible. I would urge everyone to have a good clear out this weekend and then take advantage of the chance to make some money on Monday.”
Sellers need not book. Gates open at 7am. It costs £8 for a car, £10 for a car and trailer and £15 for a van. Buyers admission is 50p for adults, under-15’s free.
Treetops will also stage car boot sales on Sunday, July 17, and Monday, August 29.
The Hospice provides respite care for adults in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis. It also provides help and support to their carers and their families.
