Virtuoso guitarist Vieux Farka Touré is regarded as ‘the Hendrix of the Sahara’.
Best known for his expertise in African fingerstyle, Touré’s career has seen him rise to the top of the New World chart.
He will play at the Pavion Arts Centre, Buxton, on Tuesday, February 2, at 7.30pm where he will be supported by charismatic Irish troubadour Alan Burke.
Vieux’s latest album sets out to remind listeners of the beauty and culture of his native Mali at a time of increased conflict and territorial fighting.
