Boo’s songs in the spotlight

The acclaimed and collaborative singer-songwriter Boo Hewerdine tours his endearing new album at Glee Club Nottingham on Saturday, May 17, with special guest support from Hafdis Huld.

Boo Hewerdine is universally acclaimed as one of Britain’s finest songwriters, with over 1,000 published songs already recorded.

My Name In Brackets is a new album that’s subject is song or rather, the writing credit that follows the title of each song. A diverse array of artists including KD Lang, Heidi Talbot, Kris Drever (Lau), Chris Difford (Squeeze), Suggs (Madness) and Kim Richey have recorded his songs but Boo’s most popular work has been as collaborator, producer, songwriter and guitarist for Eddi Reader (for over two decades).

This new album captures his engaging work with others perfectly and will no doubt inspire a very engaging live set list. He said: “I am looking forward to singing songs from throughout my writing career and also new songs from My Name In Brackets. This will be the first opportunity for fans to hear the new material”.

Hafdis Huld was a member of Icelandic electro-collective Gus Gus, chill-out electronic outfit FC Kahuna and has supported Eg White and Paolo Nutini.

Tickets are £13. Doors open at 7.45pm. Call the box office on 0871 472 0400.
