CANADA’S foremost vocal harmony trio Finest Kind are the musical guests in the Concert Room, at Nailers, based at Belper Town FC, on Tuesday, May 24, from 8pm.

As part of their Across The Big Pond 2011 UK tour, Ian Robb, Ann Downey and Shelley Posen, plus guest musician James Stephens on fiddle and mandolin, will be playing songs from their new album For Honour And For Gain.

Also included in the programme are numbers that have brought them to the forefront of traditional music in Canada, USA and the UK.

Songs from the English tradition, country gems, Appalachian classics, and self-penned numbers are all in their set.

Glorious harmonies and superb musicianship are wrapped up in a very entertaining programme.

Their exquisite harmony singing and brilliant vocal arrangements bring a fresh sense of excitement and discovery to their performance of songs old and new.

The trio’s glorious sound is served up with easy-going humour.
