DALES band The Piracy are fresh out the studio after recording their new E.P.

The lads have spent the last month recording at Belper-based recording studio Sound-Hub.

The clean Stone Roses/The Smiths-esque beats are well complemented by lead singers Craig Wheeldon’s voice. The band have added a new member to their line up, making the sound bigger, better and louder in their opinion.

New guitarist Gaz Mccabe is the finishing piece to the puzzle as the band’s fifth member.

On Saturday, September 29, new Wirksworth-based music promotions company Indie Wirks will be putting on the band’s first gig as a five-piece at The Black Hippo in Matlock.

It is free to get in and starts at 7.30pm. Support comes from an acoustic Andy Page, whose band Catching Kate won Matlock District Battle of the Bands at Black Hippo back on September 7.

Also playing will be Derby band The Standby Setting, who offer their own soulful, upbeat brand of alternative-rock
