A FOLK-rock quartet from Belper is getting ready to celebrate its first anniversary.

JigeryFolkery have been in business for one year.

And to celebrate, the foursome are having a Bagpipe Bash tomorrow night, January 19, at the Spanker Inn, Nether Heage.

Hugh Stewart, singer and bagpipe player for the band, said: “2011 was a great year for us. Although we have only had 12 months together, we undertook 35 gigs, which is a great start.

“Among the highlights, our fans will talk of the CAMRA beer festival in Butterley, and our storming Christmas party down at the George and Dragon, on December 24. People are still coming up to me when I go shopping to say how much they enjoyed that show. They have re-booked us for next year, but that’s usually what happens, wherever we play.”

Tomorrow’s gig starts at 9pm and will be the band’s first appearance at the Spanker.
