Nottingham Symphony Orchestra are teaming up again with a leading violin soloist for a concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall on Saturday, July 11.
The concert will be conducted by Derek Williams and starts at 7.30pm.
Returning to play with the orchestra will be highly-rated young soloist Martyn Jackson (pictured), whose performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto a year ago at Southwell Minster with NSO was an impressive display.
This time, he will be playing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, a lyrical and majestic work that is always a favourite with audiences.
The rest of an exciting, multi-faceted programme, will feature Weber’s light and tuneful Euryanthe Overture, Wagner’s evocative Forest Murmurs, a piece of highly descriptive instrumental mood music from his opera Siegfried, and Brahms’s much-loved First Symphony.
Tickets are: back stalls, £14 (no concessions); all other seats £12; concessions - seniors £10, under 21s £6. They are available online at www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk or from the Nottingham Playhouse box office on (0115) 941 9419.
