Bearded Theory Festival has been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious UK Festival Awards.
The event, which will move to a new home at Catton Hall, from May 22-25 next year, was previously held in the grounds of Kedleston Hall and has made it to the final ten in the Best Small Festival, Best Grassroots Event and Best Toilets categories.
Festival director Steve Blount said: “To be included in the shortlists in three categories when there have been more than half a million public votes cast is a tribute to the Bearded Theory family.”
He added: “We’re genuinely touched that so many of our festival-goers have taken the time to give us their backing. We don’t organise Bearded Theory to win awards, but the fact that so many people clearly enjoy what we’re doing is very humbling and makes us feel like winners already.”
James Drury, UK Festival Awards MD, commented: “We’ve seen one of the most vibrant seasons in 2013; line-ups have featured a huge number of must-see and incredible new acts. Again we’ve beaten the record of votes cast with 575,000 received this year and we can’t wait to reveal the favourites of the festival-going public.”
The winners will be announced on Monday, December 2.
