Sid Ramchander made his first concert appearance at the age of 13 with the Belarusian Youth Orchestra at the National Cultural Festival in Bahrain.
He went on to win the Young Musician of the Gulf Competition and study with Aleksandar Madžar at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels.
In his formative years, he has also trained with distinguished pianists such as Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Andrzej Jasiński, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music with Richard Ormrod.
He has performed as a soloist in France, Italy, Belgium, Bahrain and Kuwait.
He appears by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music.
The concert is in the Main Hall at Ecclesbourne School in Duffield on Saturday, January 30 January at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm).
The programme will feature Schubert’s Klavierstücke D. 946, Chopin’s Mazurkas Op. 59 and Barcarolle Op. 60, Scriabin’s Sonata Op. 66, Brahms’ Klavierstücke Op. 118
Tickets are £13 (£12 concessions, £5 NUS) and available on the door or from John Norreys on 01332 841503 or online at www.musicatduffield.com
The group’s second concert of the year will be on February 20 and will feature a performance from The Thorne Trio.
The Thorne Trio is a versatile wind group, made up of graduates of the Royal College of Music.
In their time together they have had numerous performance opportunities throughout the United Kingdom.
This has enabled them to accomplish their aim of bringing the lesser known trio repertoire to the forefront of the recital platform.
With their continued success, has also come the opportunity to work with, and commission, new works by British composers.
