Seventies Mod band Secret Affair are hitting Chesterfield to perform classics such as My World and Time For Action.

They will be live at The Avenue on Saturday, October 6, in a co-headline show with The Truth, best known for songs such as Weapon of Love and Confusion (Hits Us Every Time).

In a period of little over two years, Secret Affair had five releases in the UK singles chart and released three albums.

Rock band The Truth was formed by Dennis Greaves, formerly of Nine Below Zero, and Mick Lister in 1982. Several songs from their hit album Weapon of Love were used in the cult sci-fi film The Hidden.

Support act at The Avenue show will be The Nutty Boys and there will be a DJ set from Gary Shail and Trevor Laird (Spidy and Smail from Quadrophenia).

Secret Affair have just announced plans for a major 40th anniversary tour of their debut album Glory Boys album next year, which will include a date at Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms on May 11. Inspired by the fabled smart-dressing youth movement of the same name The Glory Boys were styled in 1960s gangster chic and influenced by the cult classic movie, “Performance” starring Mick Jagger and Edward Fox.
