Three local singers will make a welcome return to Derby city centre this weekend as part of the St Peters Quarter Live programme of street entertainment.
The musical entertainment will be staged at St Peter’s Cross, the busy crossroads of St Peter’s Street, East Street and St Peter’s Churchyard.
Kezia Gill, Lily Ward-Taylor and Danieal will be performing on Saturday, February 6 and both Kezia and Danieal will perform again on Saturday February 13.
Singer and songwriter Kezia Gill, 27, has spent her career travelling the world and making a living out of singing.
Last year she signed with Cubit Recordings
Reggae, roots and dub singer-songwriter Danieal has performed internationally and last year released a new EP, Letting Go, with plans for a video and debut album in the pipeline.
Another firm favourite in St Peters Quarter’s street entertainment programme is 18 year-old is Lily Taylor-Ward.
She was spotted busking in St Peter’s Street by Ian Hinds, Project Manager for St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District, who noticed the response from the shoppers who had gathered to listen to her sing.
Lily is now a regular in St Peters Quarter – performing an eclectic repertoire of classical pieces and songs from the West End shows.
St Peters Quarter Live is organised by local businesses through the area’s Business Improvement District (BID) programme as part of their objective to improve the visitor experience in the traditional high street area between the Cathedral Quarter and Intu shopping centre.
Stephen Jeffery, chairman of St Peters Quarter BID, explained: “All three singers are very popular with visitors when they perform in St Peters Quarter and we were keen to have them back to launch the 2016 St Peters Quarter Live programme.
“They always draw large crowds and create a wonderful atmosphere on the main spine through St Peters Quarter.”
