One of the UK’s most decorated broadcasters, Andy Kershaw, will share his adventures with a captive audience at the Assembly Rooms on Thursday, February 16.
Andy has worked for Radio 4, has been a Radio 1 DJ, shared an office with the legendary John Peel and, more recently, was a presenter on Radio 3.
He has also worked for Mick Jagger and Billy Bragg, and boasts a record collection which he reckons weighs seven tons. Andy has combined his passion for music with a lunatic curiosity for frontline journalism, reporting from some of the world’s most extreme countries.
Among Andy’s many fans are Stephen Fry and Michael Palin. The latter said: “Andy Kershaw is such an enthusiast. He made me travel a little further than I normally do. He has an ability to do things first and ask questions afterwards. Not a recipe for a safe, secure life, maybe, but it makes things a lot more interesting for the rest of us!”
So, why not book your seat in the intimate Darwin Suite and come and listen to Andy’s tales of foreign adventures, motorcycles, nervous breakdowns and relationships with pieces of music.
Tickets are £15. For more information and to book tickets call 01332 255800.
