Summer may be all but over but there’s plenty of raise the spirits in the forthcoming Derby LIVE autumn comedy.
Laughter is often considered the best medicine and has been proven to boost the immune system and relieve stress. Audiences will have a huge selection of comedy events to choose from if they are looking to banish their potential winter blues.
First up is Robert Newman’s New Theory of Evolution in which the former Mary Whitehouse Experience and Newman And Baddiel In Pieces star returns to the stand-up scene with his latest offering.
Rob’s compelling and comical challenge to dominant theories will not only leave you smiling but questioning life as we know it. It can be seen in the Darwin Suite this Friday at 8pm.
Rapper turned comedian Doc Brown is in the Darwin Suite on September 25, from 8pm, with his show Of Mic And Men. This is his tongue-in-cheek take on hip hop culture.
Multi award-winning comedian Rob Beckett and his trademark grin will be travelling across the country with his debut UK tour. The plan for the show is for you to laugh a lot and leave happier than when you arrived. He is in the Darwin Suite on Saturday, September 28.
Roaring Forties is the new show from Irish comic Ed Byrne.
Ed is now in his forties and embraces middle age with open arms. Come join him, as he truly comes of age, on October 3 in the Great Hall at the Assembly Rooms.
Later in the season, there are appearances by the likes Sean Hughes (October 10), Marcus Brigstocke (October 11), Ardal O’Hanlon (October 23), Alexei Sayle (October 29), Ken Dodd (November 2), Jason Manford (November 13-14) and giant-sized comic Greg Davies (pictured) on November 21.
