LEOS presents The Hired Man

Long Eaton Operatic Society’s production of The Hired Man will be performed from October 22-26.

It it to take place in the May Hall, Trent College, Long Eaton.

Acclaimed for its epic story and also a rousing and romantic score, The Hired Man tells the timeless and moving story of a young couple, named John and Emily Tallentire.

It focuses on their engrossing struggle to carve a living from the land.

Set against the backdrop of the Cumbrian lakes in the early part of the 20th century, this very British story brings to life the working class realities of the Hiring Fair, the drinking bouts and whippet racing, before the country life they hold dear is swept away by the devastation of the war to end all wars.

The Hired Man is based on the much-loved novel by Melvyn Bragg, and brought to life by the music of award-winning composer Howard Goodall.

Long Eaton Operatic Society is extremely proud to present such a quality musical to the wider audience it truly deserves.

Evening performances are at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Call 01332 874352 or 07753 353417 for tickets. They are £10 stalls and £12 balcony (£8 concessions matinee only).
