It’s time for the latest in our series of 60 Seconds With features, getting to know the stars of Aladdin, this year’s Mansfield Palace Theatre panto.

This week, it’s the turn of Chris Edgerley, who takes the title role in the production

Is this your first visit to Mansfield? (If not, when were you last here and with which show?)

I’ve been to Mansfield a few times over the years to support friends who have been in shows at the Palace Theatre. I appeared in the Wizard of Oz here at Easter in 2013 with Dani Harmer and Bobby Davro.

What is your usual daily routine and how do you think the Panto schedule will differ?

I’m very lucky to have been working in live theatre all year so my routine is ready for a tip top panto season!

Tell us about the character you will be playing…

Aladdin is such a fun character to play. This is my third year in the role for UK Productions and I can’t wait to get back on the flying carpet!

Can you give us any gossip on your fellow cast?! (For a family-friendly audience!)

I have flat-shared with both Princess Jasmine and Slave of the Ring plus I have worked with PC’s Ping and Pong and Wishee Washee before, so I have lots of gossip!

What would be your dream Theatre role? Who would you love to work alongside?

I’d love to play Buddy in Elf the Musical.

Who is the most famous person in your phone / following you on social media?

Dani Harmer (of Tracy Beaker and Strictly Come Dancing fame). I love her so much!

What is your guilty pleasure? (For example, a cheesy song, unhealthy food, etc)

Dark chocolate, Friends TV show and a dark room.

Tell us your best joke? (Or give an example of a prank you have played on someone…)

Clowns divorce = custardy battle!

Where will you be spending Christmas Day this year? Who with?

With my amazing family.

What are you most looking forward to about Panto / Christmas / spending time in Mansfield?

Being with the cast – they are such a fab, fun bunch of people.
