A total of £765 has been donated to Blythe House Hospice by Bakewell Show President Mary Morten following a raffle which was held during her pre-show dinner.

Mary, from Cowdale, near Buxton, nominated as her chosen charity the Chapel-en-le-Frith hospice, which was also given a stall at the annual farming and horticultural show.

She said: “It was a pleasure to support such a worthwhile local charity.

“I’m delighted that people at the dinner were so generous and I’m so pleased to be able to donate this amount to Blythe House Hospice.”
