Driver managed to escape before car caught fire
A car caught fire on the A617 near junction 29 of the M1 at around 7.30pm last night (Sunday, May 21).
The fire was thought to be electrical. It started under the bonnet and spread to the rest of the car.
Luckily the driver was able to stop and escape. There were no injuries.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue were in attendance.
One lane of the eastbound carriageway of the A617 was closed for recovery of the vehicle.
