Granddaughter Ellen-Rose Chapman said the nurses who cared for Mavis were ‘living angels’ and has asked people to donate money to the NHS, as well as the British Heart Foundation, in lieu of flowers at the funeral on May 15.
The family said: “Mavis loved the British Heart Foundation it was a charity so very close to her heart. Any donation will go towards their amazing research.
“Also the NHS at Chesterfield Royal Hospital who held her hand and stayed with her until she passed away so she wasn’t alone. You are all living angels and this will be a small token of our appreciation for your care for Mavis.”
